Finding Success and Support for Home Learning Through SEL

Providing Support in a Time of Educational Uncertainty

Whether you’re a parent, teacher, counselor, or administrator, we’re all grappling with how to best keep our families safe and our children learning during this time of uncertainty. Let us be your partner as you navigate everything from home learning to how to talk to students about COVID-19, and deal with challenges and questions that may come from that.

ACT’s SEL Curricula and Assessment (Mawi Learning and Tessera) have a few ways to support you immediately. And as the landscape changes, we’ll continue to provide opportunities for home learning support and social emotional learning growth.

We know this will be a time of change and will bring new challenges and difficulties, but your dedication to your students (as a parent or educator), in the home or in the classroom continues to drive us all forward, so thank you!

SEL Home Connections (Grades 3-8):

These parent letters and student worksheets focus on some of the core tools and strategies taught in social emotional learning. They can provide structure for teachers or parents to introduce SEL concepts to students while they are working at home and can help facilitate student and parent conversations around SEL, too.

Stress Management Series (All):

Students with strong skills set goals for success, handle stress, and can put their knowledge into action. Keep your students feeling confident in themselves and their abilities with these tips and tricks from Mawi Learning’s founder, Mawi Asgedom, as he explains healthy ways to deal with stress. Check back regularly for updates!

Other ACT Resources (Varies):

With ACT’s focus on learning, measurement, and navigation, they are uniquely positioned to help students of every age and workforce, too. Check out their full list of resources to help all learners navigate these times and achieve success.
