Mawi Learning is pleased to announce the addition of Sarah Said to our quickly growing English Learner team. Sarah will join the Mawi Learning team in July 2018 as Director of English Learner Impact, bringing a wealth of experience supporting English Learners of all ages.

Over the past decade, Sarah has been a teacher and an advocate for students across the greater Chicagoland area. Sarah will join Mawi Learning after serving as EL Director and a Dean of Instruction, overseeing bilingual programming for multiple languages and supports for the newcomer student population.

Sarah brings to Mawi Learning her commitment to achieving educational equity, social and emotional learning, and helping students and their families learn the value of a growth mindset. She also brings her experience of implementing blended learning and integrated SEL supports throughout the EL curriculum.

“I’m excited to join the team at Mawi Learning because I stand behind the company mission of applying SEL tools to get results,” said Sarah. “I’m looking forward to the unparalleled opportunity to cultivate the Super ELL program and help English Learners across the country succeed.”

As Director of EL Impact, Sarah will rely on her education, which includes two Master’s degrees: one in Instructional Leadership in Literacy, Language, and Culture and a second in Educational Leadership. She also has her Bachelor’s degree in English Education from the University of Illinois.
